Spend two days enjoying the delights and variety of wildlife you can spot in two very different national parks.
A perfect choice if you’re looking for a shorter safari that doesn’t cut out any of the amazing experiences Tanzania’s national parks have to offer. Enjoy some of our top safari highlights, including spotting tree-climbing lions in the Lake Manyara national park and stunning views and game drives as you descend into the lush Ngorongoro crater, a wildlife area nestled in the base of an extinct volcano. (It will blow your mind...see what we did there!) Topped off with a relaxing one night stay in your accommodation of choice, this is the perfect mini-getaway.
2-day itinerary
Day 1: Lake Manyara National Park
After breakfast our driver will collect you and head off on a 2-3 hour drive to Lake Manyara National park. Well known for its huge elephant population and ancient baobab trees, the park has the largest concentration of baboons anywhere in the world! After a morning game drive, we will stop for our packed lunch and cold drinks. Keep an eye out for the incredible bird life in the afternoon and the lions which are renowned for their tree climbing. We’ll bring you to your accommodation in Karatu before the evening sets in, either in the park or outside of it depending on your choice of hotel, which we can help you to select. Dinner will be served at your accommodation.
Day 2: Ngorongoro Crater National Park
After an early breakfast, you will descend over 600 meters into the crater to view wildlife. Supported by a year round water supply and fodder, the Ngorongoro conservation Area supports a vast variety of animals. From herds of wildebeest to zebra, buffalo, eland, warthog, hippo, and giant African elephants, the list of wonders you’ll see is vast. The huge benefit of this picturesque national park is it’s dense population of predators, which include lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs and the ever-elusive leopard, which require a trained eye to spot. We will visit Lake Magadi, a large but shallow alkaline lake in the southwestern corner of the park, which is one of the main features of the crater. A large number of flamingos, hippos and other water birds can usually be seen here.
At the end of this spectacular two day tour we will provide your transfer back to Arusha where you can enjoy dinner before heading back to the airport. If you’re looking to stay overnight let us know, accommodation can be included upon request at extra cost.
