Enjoy spotting Tanzania’s big cats, gaze at the stunning birdlife, enjoy authentic interactions with the Maasai tribes and see more animals than you thought possible on the endless rolling plains of the Serengeti.

4-day itinerary

Day 1: Lake Manyara National Park

After breakfast our driver will collect you and head into Arusha town for any last-minute purchases before heading off on a 2-3 hour drive to Lake Manyara National park. Well known for its huge elephant population and ancient baobab trees, the park has the largest concentration of baboons anywhere in the world! After a morning game drive, we will stop for our packed lunch and cold drinks. Keep an eye out for the incredible bird life in the afternoon and the lions which are renowned for their tree climbing. We’ll bring you to your accommodation in Karatu before the evening sets in, either in the park or outside of it depending on your choice of hotel. Dinner will be served at your accommodation.

Day 2: Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, depart for Serengeti National Park, via the beautiful high lying farmland of Karatu and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Leaving the highlands behind, we descend into the heart of wild Africa with its endless plains, rolling into the distance as far as the eye can see. Next you’ll head to the central park area, known as the Seronera area.One of the richest wildlife habitats, this is the best place to see wildebeest migration, lions, zebras, antelopes, buffalos, black rhino, crocodile, leopard and many other native animals.You’ll see the beautiful Seronera River, which provides a valuable water source that attracts a plethora of wildlife. After a drive through the beautiful Tanzanian scenery, you will arrive in time for lunch before setting off to enjoy an afternoon game drive in the Serengeti national park.In the late afternoon we will bring you to your accommodation in the Serengeti for a relaxing dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Serengeti National Park

With so much to see in the Serengeti National Park, our third day gives you the chance to explore it’s wonders further. After breakfast we head off for an early morning game drive, rising early to see the animals as they wake up and begin their day. Our guides will take you to the best locations for watching large prides of lions and spotting hippos as they squelch in their muddy pools to cool off from the scorching heat. Experience the middle of the bustling migration, sometimes surrounding the vehicle with wildebeest or zebra. After a stop for your picnic lunch including local Tanzanian delicacies, you will depart to the Ngorongoro Conservation area. We will have a stop at a Maasai village, learn about their culture and their nomadic lifestyle, where they will be keen to share their traditions including the amazing Maasai celebration dances. In the late afternoon we will take you to your accommodation where you can unwind and relax with dinner as the sun sets.

Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater National Park

After an early breakfast, you will descend over 600 meters into the crater for a game drive. Supported by a year round water supply and fodder, the Ngorongoro crater supports a vast variety of animals, which include herds of wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, eland, warthog, hippo, and giant African elephants. Another great benefit of this picturesque national park is it’s dense population of predators, which include lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs and the ever-elusive leopard, which sometimes requires a trained eye to spot. We will visit Lake Magadi, a large but shallow alkaline lake in the southwestern corner, which is one of the main features of the crater. A large number of flamingos, hippos and other water birds can usually be seen here. In the late afternoon we will begin our journey back to Arusha city for dinner and overnight, or we can take you directly to the airport upon request at an extra cost.
