Red Banana Ltd. is a family run, locally registered and fully licensed tour company that organizes safaris and tours throughout Tanzania and Zanzibar.
Who are we?
Our founders, Katie and Victor, are highly experienced and ready to provide exciting and top-quality safaris, day trips and Zanzibar stays.
After gaining substantial experience in the travel industry, we (Katie and Victor) decided to go after our dream, to open Red Banana Tours. Using our specialist knowledge to ensure you are treated to the finest experiences, we are proud to provide an honest, friendly service, creating tailor-made experiences just for you.
Whether you have come to unwind on Zanzibar’s white sandy beaches for a relaxing escape, you’re on a tight budget or timeframe, planning for a large group, celebrating with a special holiday or honeymoon or you are a single traveler, we are ready to create the perfect itinerary for you.
Over the years we have organised safaris and Zanzibar trips for close family and friends and now we want to do the same for you! We are passionate about ensuring every aspect of your trip is organized beautifully, full of only the best adventures and opportunities to embrace local culture and traditions.

Why Tanzania?
After leaving her home in England and spending 8 years travelling and living around the world leading group trips for an international charity, Katie fell head over heels in love with Tanzania (and with Victor!) When she is not in the office speaking with clients, you’ll often find her watching the sunrise over huge herds of zebra in the Ngorongoro crater, shopping for spices in Zanzibar’s bustling markets or sipping freshly ground Tanzanian coffee at the base of the mighty Mount Kilimanjaro.
As a child, Victor grew up on the edge of the Manyara national park and had daily encounters with elephants, cheetahs and even lions! He has a passion for brightly coloured birds native to Tanzania, a deep-rooted love for his homeland and a desire to share Tanzania’s best kept secrets with you on our tours. With a career in logistics, managing luxury hotels, and his local knowledge, who could be better to help design your adventure!
As a couple we bring our joint passion for Tanzania and sharing all that it has to offer, whilst ensuring we give back to the local community.

As well as organising fabulous trips to Tanzania, we are passionately committed to giving back to the local communities our clients visit. As our company grows, Red Banana has expanded its charitable giving to support anti-poaching and wildlife protection, and community development including the gifting of banana trees to local schools.
For every safari or tour booked with Red Banana, one banana tree is gifted to support a school garden. School gardens allow children to learn key life skills and enjoy the fruits during school snack time. We have planted hundreds across the Arusha region in Tanzania! Most safari-goers travel along the same routes, through bustling towns and dusty villages, but miss out on many little wonders along the way. Like the red banana. Driving through Tanzania, banana plants and plantations are seen everywhere. It is believed that more than 20 varieties of bananas grow in Tanzania but the sweetest of them all, is the red banana.
As one of Tanzania’s hidden delicacies, many tourists don't believe this delicious banana actually exists. Our guides are passionate about sharing Tanzania's best kept secrets with you, like the red banana.
